Nestled within a sprawling 500-acre oceanfront farm in East Sooke, British Columbia, this beautiful guest home, affectionately referred to as ‘The Farmhouse’, was designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding forest while offering protection from the harsh coastal winds. Our clients envisioned a home that would disappear into the trees, creating a quiet retreat that felt sturdy and secure from the elements, yet bright and welcoming inside.

To honor their vision, we focused on clean, simple lines for the exterior, allowing the beauty of the natural landscape to take center stage. The sheltered sitting area outside the bedroom invites guests to take in breathtaking views while remaining protected from the wind.

Inside, a combination of raw wood accents, concrete floors, and a cozy wood stove creates a sense of warmth that reflects the rugged timbers and rocky coastline just outside. A loft above the kitchen, bathed in light from a series of skylights, brings a bright and airy feel to the entire space, ensuring that the beauty of the ocean and forest is captured from every angle.
